We offer a wide range of services, which are listed below. If you have any questions about any of our services, please contact us and we’ll be happy to provide additional information.
Laser Technology
Our laser is the ideal instrument to use for a variety of surgical procedures. Lasers have been used on humans for over 30 years and we are pleased to be one of the few practices in the area to offer you this service. Laser technology provides less trauma, less bleeding, less swelling, and less pain to the surgical site. All our declaws are performed with our laser, and our clients love it.
Grooming
We offer these grooming options:
Well Kitten/Cat Exam
Just as you or I would visit our doctors when we're sick, we take our cats into the vet when they become ill. However, for preventative care, cats should be seen 1-2 times a year for wellness visits. The life expectancy of an indoor cat is 15-18 years. Wellness visits can keep our cats strong, healthy, playful, and living to be 15-18 years old or even 20-22 years!
Bringing your cat in for a yearly or bi-yearly exam will ensure that they are healthy will also let us know if there are any health issues we need to address. One thing we monitor very closely is a cat's weight. Weight loss can indicate many disease processes that may be affecting your cat. Weight gain is something we also monitor, because we worry about diabetes, liver disease, and joint problems. Because our cats can't tell us what's wrong or how they feel, coming in for a wellness visit/exam 1-2 times per year is one of the best things we can do for them.
Senior Cat Care/Wellness Profile
If you're cat is 10 years or older he/she is considered a senior pet. Senior Pets can be at risk for several health issues including hyperthyroidism, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, just to name a few.
Having a Senior Wellness Profile run 1-2 times a year will help to keep your cat at his/her healthiest, and will also help us detect any health problems The profile iIncludes: exam, complete blood count, full blood chemistry profile, urinalysis, thyroid screening, and one full body X-ray.
Safe Anesthesia
We use Sevoflurane gas anesthesia with all of our anesthetic procedures including: all surgical procedures, spay/neuters, dental cleanings, or lioncuts. We also use gas anesthesia with unruly cats that we are not able to restrain. Sevoflurane is a very safe gas anesthesia that we use for its rapid induction of anesthesia and shorter recovery time. It is eliminated via the lungs, therefore, it does not have to be metabolized through the liver or kidneys like many intravenous anesthetics. Some gas anesthetics do not have a great smell, but most cats show no reaction to the smell of Sevoflurane.
We also use a small amount of an intravenous tranquilizer with most of our surgical procedures. This allows the cats to wake up slowly and calmly so they do not create problems with their surgical sites.
